DHS reports 52 new La Crosse County COVID-19 cases, new record statewide

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Wisconsin set a new daily record for new COVID-19 cases again Thursday with an increase of 3,747, according to the Department of Health Services.

The state’s average daily case number has more than quadrupled in the past six weeks and average daily deaths have more than tripled, said DHS.

Seventeen Wisconsinites died since Wednesday, brining the total number of deaths statewide to 1,553.

In La Crosse County, DHS reported 52 new cases out of 114 tests.

New cases include:

  • Three people under age 9;
  • Seven people between 10-19;
  • Sixteen people in their 20s;
  • Five people in their 30s;
  • Eight people in their 40s;
  • Seven people in their 50s;
  • Four people in their 60s;
  • One person in their 70s; and,
  • One person over the age of 90.
