DNR seeks nominees for hunter ethics award

MADISON, Wis. (AP) — State wildlife officials are seeking nominees for the annual La Crosse Tribune/Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources Hunter Ethics Award.

The DNR will accept nominations through December 15. Candidates must be a licensed Wisconsin hunter and have performed an ethical hunting act in the state during 2011. Nominations must contain the name, address and telephone number of the witness or witnesses to the behavior that lead to the nomination

Past winners have restored wildlife habitat, allowed new hunters on private land, assisted a warden and helped find a buck that fell off a pickup truck.
