Dog lovers attend 5k “Paws for Pine View” Event Saturday
Collected dog food is donated to local shelter
FORT MCCOY, Wis. (WKBT) — A man’s best friend took over Pine View Campground Saturday for the annual 5K “Paws for Pine View” event.
Dog lovers lined up with their four-legged canines to get some exercise this morning at a run/walk in Fort McCoy.
In order to participate, the owners had to keep their dogs on a leash and make sure they are up-to-date on their shots. After that, it was free range and those who won the race received prizes.
Organizers set up activities for kids such as wagon rides and crafts, as well as, other activities for their four-legged friends.
“The whole day is for the family and the dog, we have games prepared for the dogs, like obstacle course, worst breath contest and best in show,” said Julie Pressler, recreation sports programmer.
Organizers also collected dog food that will be donated to a local shelter.
