Donation drive held in Onalaska for U.S. troops

Donations held at Onalaska Armory

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Community members are helping those that serve our country.

A donation drive was held Thursday at the Onalaska Armory on Oak Forest Drive.

The drive gathered donations that will be sent to U.S. troops stationed overseas.

Operation Homefront which organized the drive asked asking for things like healthy snacks, toiletries, and sunscreen.

The donations can help lift the spirits of a member of the U.S military.

“We get really wonderful feedback from our service members. We’ve had them comeback and say ‘Oh, those care packages came just at the right time,” said Operation Homefront advisory council member Patti Lokken.

The donations will be delivered to troops by the end of the year.
