Donna M. Baumbach

Donna M. Baumbach, age 87, formerly of LeRoy, MN died on Monday, October 21, 2019 at Madonna Towers in Rochester, MN.

Donna Mae Smith was born October 13, 1932 in Genoa, MN to Ray and Florence Smith. She was united in marriage to Eugene Baumbach on June 15, 1952 in St. Charles, MN. Eugene was a teacher and principal at LeRoy-Ostrander for many years. Donna worked as a nanny for 10 years and worked at Hormel for 37 years. She was a member of the Library Board, multiple church circles, several card clubs, and was very active in community education. Donna loved to bake, play bridge, travel, and entertain friends and faculty. She also enjoyed attending her children’s and grandchildren’s sporting events.

Donna is survived by her children Kirk (Lori) Baumbach, Bret (Kathy) Baumbach, and Danette (Matt) Bashaw all of Byron, MN, 7 grandchildren Jeremy (Shaylene) Baumbach, Tyler (Chelsey) Baumbach, Ryan Baumbach, Cody Baumbach, Kendra (Josh) Maggert, Logan Bashaw, and Drew Bashaw, and 4 great-grandchildren Jadyn, Kylie, Vincent, and Maverick.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Eugene on August 2, 1972, 4 brothers, and 3 sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 28, 2019 at LeRoy Lutheran Church with Pastor Herman Bakker officiating. Burial will take place in the LeRoy Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 2-4 p.m. on Sunday, October 27 at LeRoy Lutheran Church and will continue for one hour prior to the service on Monday.
