Dozens of apartment residents displaced by fire

EDINA, Minn. (AP) — Investigators are looking for the cause of an apartment fire in Edina that caused dozens of residents to evacuate.

About 10 fire departments worked the fire at the 118-unit Parklawn Estates about 11 p.m. Tuesday. Flames quickly spread up the building and past the top floor of the three-story complex.

Edina Fire Chief Marty Scheerer tells KMSP-TV the fire alarms worked throughout the building, but the blaze could have been contained to one unit if the apartment had sprinklers.
