WAFER drive-thru food fair helps families in need
Wafer officials had no pre-registration required and no proof of income needed for people to get groceries

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – During tough times, families may have trouble finding healthy food, one local group is doing their part to help. Wafer Food pantry held a drive-thru food fair Saturday.
Everyone who showed up today was able to get groceries. There was no pre-registration required and no proof of income needed for those who wanted food.
With many people in our area lacking access to nutritious food, events like this help to serve La Crosse residents in need.
“Families are struggling we know that we continue to see new families and people returning for food packages. You know with the economy the way it is and people still struggling with returning back to work. Everything that the pandemic has disrupted, we just want to be here to help our community,” said Erin Waldhart, the Executive Director of WAFER Food Pantry.
The WAFER Food Pantry Food Fair will continue to welcome those in need on the fourth Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to noon.
