Driver hurt when car strikes horse in eastern Iowa
ONSLOW, Iowa (AP) — Authorities say a driver was flown to a hospital for treatment after his car ran into a horse on an eastern Iowa highway.
The Gazette reports that the accident occurred about 11:45 p.m. Thursday north of Onslow on Iowa Highway 136.
The Jones County Sheriff’s Office says Terrance Ward, of Clarence, was driving south when his car struck the horse.
Ward was flown to St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids. The horse did not survive.
