Driver loses control on ice covered road, truck ends up on its side
Accident happened in Vernon County
KICKAPOO, Wis. (WKBT) — No injuries were reported after a pickup truck lost control on ice covered roads last night in the town of Kickapoo.
The truck, driven by Natasha Tweedy of Soldiers Grove, was traveling on Highway 131 just north of Readstown at approximately 6:35 p.m. Sunday night, December 1, when Tweedy lost control due to ice on the road.
According to Sheriff Spears of the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office, the truck slid off the roadway and hit an embankment overturning on its passenger side. Natasha, her husband Ronald Tweedy and their 2-year-old son were able to crawl out safely.
Both adults were wearing seatbelts and the boy was secured in a child car seat. The driver of the truck went in a private vehicle to an area hospital for precautionary reasons.
The Vernon County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Readstown Fire Department and First Responders.
The incident is under investigation by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office.
