Dwaine E. Posten

Dwaine Earl Posten, 72, of Prairie du Chien, Wis., passed away Friday, October 15, 2021, at Crossing Rivers Health after a short illness. He was born May 16, 1949, in Prairie du Chien, the son of Oscar and Lucille (Valley) Posten.

In his younger years, Dwaine worked as a janitor’s assistant at B.A. Kennedy School. He then worked for many years at the Opportunity Center, where he loved his job. In recent years, he enjoyed hanging out with his friends at Meadow Lane and had a very high regard for his caregiver Prema. Dwaine was an avid Green Bay Packers fan. He loved children and they loved him as well.

He is survived by one brother Donald (Teresa) Heal of Prairie du Chien, two sisters Judith Berg of Richland Center, and Darlene (Ronald) Bunders of Prairie du Chien; his sister-in-law Theresa Heal of Prairie du Chien and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Alvin Heal, and his brother-in-law Francis Berg.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be Wednesday, October 20, at 11 A.M. at St. John’s Church of the Holy Family Parish, Msgr. Charles Stoetzel officiating with burial in the Calvary Cemetery, both in Prairie du Chien. Friends may call at the church on Wednesday from 9 A.M. until the time of services.
