E-Pollbooks coming to polling location in La Crosse for spring election
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — New technology will greet some voters in La Crosse.
Electronic poll books will be used at the polling site at South Community Library for the Spring election next week.
The Badger Book e-poll book system was introduced by the Wisconsin Election Commission last year.
The e-book replaces paper books used to check in voters, process absentee ballots and register voters on Election Day.
City officials say this will be a chance to find out if the e-book could be a good fit for La Crosse.
“The feedback that I’ve heard that it’s a fairly efficient process and the voters do move quickly through the check-in process,” said La Crosse City Clerk Teri Lehrke.
Badger Books do not use an internet connection.
