Early snow making begins at Mt. La Crosse

Hopes are to open by Thanksgiving

Last night’s snow couldn’t come at a better time for area ski hills.

Mount La Crosse is already preparing for busy season on the slopes.

Employees started making snow for their hills early Tuesday night and plan to work through the night. They are hoping to open by the day after thanksgiving.

“We’ll go all night long and we’ll try to run through the day tomorrow and we’ll try to link it together. That’s what we try to do is to get prolonged periods of snow making,” said Mt. La Crosse President Todd Schini.

They say the early snowfall and the cold temperature could have them open by Thanksgiving.
