Eau Claire shooting leaves one dead, one hospitalized

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WKBT) – One man is dead, another person hospitalized, after a shooting on Friday night.

Eau Claire Police say shortly before 9 pm Eau Claire Communication Center received multiple 911 calls regarding gunshots and a woman screaming for help.

Authorities say when police arrived at the residence, they found two victims with gunshot wounds.

One was transported to a local hospital, the other, a 30-year-old male, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The initial investigation determined that two suspects forcefully enter the residence.

They confronted the victims, then shot a firearm several times, striking both of them.

Officers searched the area in an attempt to locate the suspects and ensure the safety of the neighborhood.

They are still trying to locate the suspects.
