Effort to recruit veterans to Wisconsin
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Wisconsin is working to attract veterans looking for jobs as they transition to civilian life.
The $1.9 million campaign is part of a nationwide effort to highlight career opportunities in the state.
This marks the first time the state has launched a comprehensive talent attraction campaign aimed at military personnel and spouses.
“You want to be veteran ready. And veteran ready means you have to be ready to take on the veteran and all the good and maybe, unfortunately there’s some bad,” said Dan Zimmerman, Wisconsin Secretary of Veterans Affairs.
Millennials and college graduates are also a focus of the campaign.
