Elementary school students prepare Thanksgiving meal for parents

LA CRESCENT, Minn. (WKBT) — A group of elementary students are eating their Thanksgiving meal early.

Kindergarten and 4k students at Crucifixion School in La Crescent held a Thanksgiving feast for their families Friday.

The kids did everything from preparing the entire meal to performing some Thanksgiving songs for their guests.

Teachers say it’s a chance to for students to learn the meaning of being thankful.

For at least one of the students, it was a lesson in how much work goes into making a Thanksgiving day meal.

“We had to work hard, we had to set the table, we had to put out muffins, we had to cut up all the vegetables, we made stone soup,” said the student.

Nearly 40 students helped put together the meal.
