Eleva-Strum Football more confident entering 2nd season with newer offense
Welcome to Week 2 of Wisconsin prep football. This week signals the season debut for the entire Dairyland Conference, which was a neck-and-neck race for first in 2019.
Now, the Dairyland has already announced there won’t be conference standings or titles this season, but you know these kids would prefer to win more games than anyone else.
The Eleva-Strum Cardinals believe that could be them. That’s because just like the Green Bay Packers, Eleva-Strum is entering its second full year of a new offensive system. In year one, they had 1,600 rushing yards and 20 points a game, so with more comfort in year two, the offense says they will be able to do even more.
“Last year obviously we started from scratch. We didn’t know anything, so this year it’s been huge,” senior QB Nick Higley said. “We picked up from last year since a lot of us were familiar with the offense except for the incoming freshmen, so for us it’s really nice. We’re able to put in a lot more plays earlier in the season.”
Eleva-Strum visits Independence-Gilmanton tonight at 7 p.m.
