Elvis Explosion brings tribute artists to La Crosse
Elvis Tribute Artists come from as far as London
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A competition pitting one Elvis against another has returned to our area.
The 18th La Crosse Elvis Explosion brought Elvis Tribute Artists from around the world to the La Crosse Center. The 3 day long competition came to a close on Sunday with Tim Hendry of Canada being crowned as the King of Kings, which is his 3rd straight title at Elvis Explosion.
At the end of the day it’s all about remembering the King of Rock and keeping his music alive.
“Elvis’ music lives on through the Elvis Tribute Artists, and if these guys, these Elvis Illusionists, Elvis Actors, they portray him in the right way you maybe might see Elvis in that one fleeting second. It’s about the spirit of his music and paying homage to his career,” said the Elvis Explosion Producer Ronny Craig.
About 5,000 fans of the King showed up at the la Crosse Center to enjoy the Elvis Tribute Artists this weekend.
