Emergency Alert test will appear on digital billboard in La Crosse
4696124LA CROSSE, Wis. — On Wednesday afternoon our entire nation is going to hear and see an emergency alert to make sure the system works properly. At 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, all TV and radio stations will air a 30 second emergency alert test.
Drivers on Highway 16 in La Crosse will be seeing the alert on the digital billboard.
Olympus Media worked with local law enforcement to put together the alert template for the billboard to keep as many people informed as possible.
“If you’re out-and-about and you’re missing breaking news or emergency information this gives us the opportunity to get the word out to them. They need to tune-into somewhere, get onto some website and learn what’s going on,” says Olympus’ Media Wisconsin Division G.M. Mary Niemeyer.
This is the very first alert test for the Highway 16 billboard.
