Exercises that are good for your dog, too
To keep your dog in good health it’s important that he or she get enough exercise.
According to the ASPCA, dogs who don’t get enough exercise are more likely to act out by being destructive, trying to get attention, trying to play late at night, and overall be more hyper.
The ASPCA recommends that dogs get at least 30 minutes of cardio exercise a day, although this varies depending on the breed of dog, age and overall health.
A cardio workout can come in the form of a walk (which also benefits his or her human owner), swimming, playing games – anything that makes the dog pant, the ASPCA says.
If you are not in good health there are still ways to keep your dog active. You could hire a dog walker or take your dog to a dog park. You can also create situations where your dog exercises but you do not. According to the ASPCA, some exercises can include playing fetch where you stand still and toss a toy for your dog to retrieve.
