Explosions rock Excelsior home
EXCELSIOR, Minn. (AP) — A city official says there were no injuries in an explosion and fire in a house on Lake Minnetonka.
Excelsior Mayor Nick Ruehl says he had been briefed by emergency responders. Ruehl says that by 5:30 p.m. the fire was contained and no one has hurt in the building, nor were any firefighters injured.
WCCO-AM reports the explosions happened about 3:55 p.m. Monday at the home on the 100 block of Lakeview Avenue, which is on Lake Minnetonka.
Neighbor Michelle Koyama told the Star Tribune she heard a huge boom and then saw flames shooting out of the house.
Neighbors say they believe the family had been spending time at their cabin.
