Facebook page creates virtual superhero in Wisconsin
MILWAUKEE (AP) — A shirtless, 48-year-old, opera-loving cage-fighter-in-training is attracting a cult following in Milwaukee.
His fans dubbed the Milwaukee resident Milverine because of his hairy resemblance to the comic book character Wolverine.
In a year, he’s amassed about 2,500 Facebook followers from Milwaukee and around the world.
The Facebook fan page was started about a year ago by Tim Panicucci, who sees him walk past his workplace near downtown Milwaukee every day.
People take pictures of him and post them on the site and note the time and location.
Only recently did the Milverine himself, John Hamann, find out about the page. He says he’s amused by it.
