Fake Target employee steals $40K in iPhones

Fairfax County police are looking for a woman who they say impersonated a Target employee to steal $40,000 worth of iPhones, The Associated Press reports.

Investigators said the woman walked into an Alexandria, Virginia, Target store on March 15. The woman was able to get into the stockroom and placed over $40,000 worth of iPhones in a box and left.

Police said in a statement the suspect is not affiliated with the store, but appears to have knowledge of store procedures, employee hours and the location of the iPhones.

NBC Washington reports surveillance cameras were able to capture images of the woman.
