Familiar member of Riverfest in La Crosse will be missing for 2021
Riverfest will start June 30th in Riverside Park
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Planning is underway for the return of a summertime, La Crosse tradition.
Organizers say when Riverfest returns to Riverside Park, safety precautions will be in place.
Vendors will be spread out to allow for social distancing with the hopes of reducing lines.
This year’s event will not have a Commodore.
It’s the first time the event will not have someone in the ceremonial role.
“The hardest part about being a Commodore during a pandemic is, you know the commodores are just smiley boisterous people. They want to be out like right next to you. They want to pin that button on your shirt,” said 2021 Riverfest president Brad Pitel.
Riverfest will start June 30th in Riverside Park.
