Families attend Turned Leaf Family Festival at Myrick

Alcohol-free family activities

Many joined in a variety of activities at the annual Turned Leaf Family Festival at Myrick Park on Saturday.

It is an alcohol-free alternative to the Oktoberfest grounds.

Families enjoyed an assortment of family-friendly activities including carnival games, live music and scavenger hunts.

One organizer said the alcohol- free area gives families a chance to stay in town and enjoy some fall festivities.

“To be able to have an activity that allows people who don’t enjoy bigger crowds, to be able to stay in town, to be able to have fun and not have to worry about being surrounded by alcohol, it really means the world to people,” said Keith Lease, executive director of Coulee Council on Addictions.
