Federal grand jury indicts La Crosse man on drug, gun charges
MADISON (WKBT) — A federal grand jury returned indictments Wednesday against a La Crosse man accused of drug and gun crimes in late March.
Kareem Nellum, 29, faces charges of distribution, possession and possession with intent to distribute fentanyl, according to a news release. Nellum also faces a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm.
If convicted, he could face 20 years in prison for fentanyl distribution, between 5-40 years for possession with intent to distribute, and a maximum of 10 years for possession of firearms and ammunition as a felon.
Charges were a result of an investigation by La Crosse police and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
The grand jury also indicted four others in Hudson, Eau Claire, Fitchburg and Sun Prairie.
