Female farmers gather at dinner for ‘Modern Farm Chicks’
LA CROSSE (WKBT) — Women from the farming community got together today for conversation and collaboration.
The “Mastermind Dinner for Modern Farm Chicks” brought over 100 female farmers from the region a chance to chat and encourage each other.
Modern Day Farm Chick started out as a blog that connected female farmers through social media.
According to the blog’s founder Annaliese Wegner, she wants the public to realize just how important female farmers are.
“A lot of people don’t realize what a big role women in agriculture play,” said Wegner. “Whether we are farmers or we’re taking care of the kids or running for parts, we have so many different jobs and so many different titles to keep the farm running.”
