Fights thwarted at Milwaukee area mall

WAUWATOSA, Wis. (AP) — Residents, police and mall officials worked together to thwart fighting at a Milwaukee area mall.

Tracey Dent, president of Peace for Change Alliance, says he started seeing Facebook updates from youths Monday about fighting at Mayfair in Wauwatosa.

Michael Hagler III, a rapper known as Big Mike, contacted Dent, saying he saw similar statements. So Dent requested on three of his Facebook pages for youth to behave and parents to talk to their children.

Hagler also posted a video on YouTube encouraging youths not to fight at the mall.

Wauwatosa police Capt. Jeff Sutter tells the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel two dozen people called them with warnings. So they sent a sergeant and eight officers to question youths at mall bus stops.

The mall pushed up its curfew and security questioned unaccompanied youths.
