Final plans for Holmen Drive construction shared with public
Construction set to begin April 10th
HOLMEN, Wis. (WKBT) — The Village of Holmen is quickly changing, and residents got a chance to get a sneak peek at some of those changes Wednesday night.
Holmen Drive is set for a big improvement, with changes to intersections and landscaping coming to the two-and-a-half mile stretch of road.
Village Administrator Scott Heinig says the project is long overdue, with Holmen tripling in size since the last time the road was addressed 30 years ago.
“Our infrastructure can no longer handle the amount of traffic that we have, and we’ve got a lot of new economic development needs that our current roadway just can’t handle,” said Heinig.
The $5 million project is set to begin on April 10th and Heinig says it will last about 7 or 8 months.
Traffic will remain open during construction, although delays are expected during periods of high traffic.
