Firecracker 4 mile on the 4th
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WBKT) — Registration is still open for this year’s 5th Annual July 4 Firecracker 4 Mile Run/Walk and youth races.
The scenic four-mile course will start in Riverside Park, go over the Cass Street Bridge and end in Pettibone Park. The four-mile Firecracker run/walk will take place at 7:00 a.m. and the superhero-themed youth races will begin at 8:30 a.m. in Riverside Park.
Volunteers are also still needed and can sign up via www.firecracker4mile.com. Each volunteer will get a FREE t-shirt and FREE entry to Riverfest on July 4.
Olympic Medalist Emma Coburn will run the 4 mile race, and she will also participate in the youth superhero races. Emma’s accomplishments include: 2017 World Champion Steeplechase, 2016 Rio Olympic Bronze Medalist, and 7x U.S. Champion in the Steeplechase.
Proceeds from this Thursday’s Firecracker 4 Mile run/walk will support the Children’s Museum of La Crosse and the La Crosse Area Autism Foundation.
