Firecracker 4 Mile raises money for autism, Children’s Museum

Event included 4 mile run/walk, a competitive 1 mile run, youth races

Runners had the chance to ignite their 4th of July Saturday morning at the first annual Firecracker 4 Mile Run.

In the past the run/walk has been known as the Chileda Classic, and the Puzzle Classic last year.

The event consisted of a 4 mile run/walk, a competitive 1 mile run, and youth races.

Organizers recently included the competitive 1 mile to change up the event.

“There are a lot of 5Ks and 10Ks in the area so we were looking to bring something different to the area. We know people are always looking and new this year is the Dash for Cash Liberty Dash 1 Mile, so we have competitive and non-competitive waves. We’re really looking forward to that piece,” said Event Coordinator Emily Sturomski.

The event brought nearly 650 runners to La Crosse.

All proceeds benefit the La Crosse Area Autism Foundation and the Children’s Museum of La Crosse.
