Fired Senate staffer Brodkorb hires attorney
ST. PAUL, Minn. (AP) — The man fired from his job as communications director for the Senate Republican Caucus has hired a lawyer.
Minnesota Public Radio News reports that Michael Brodkorb hired attorney Greg Walsh. Walsh says he is gathering facts about Brodkorb’s firing and it’s too early to say if he’ll file a claim against the Senate.
Brodkorb was fired Dec. 16, hours after the public learned that Sen. Amy Koch had an “inappropriate relationship” with a male staffer. Koch has admitted to the conduct and stepped down as majority leader.
The identity of the staffer has not been disclosed. When MPR News asked whether the man was Brodkorb, Walsh said “No comment.”
Secretary of the Senate Cal Ludeman has told MPR News that the firing was not over an inappropriate relationship.
