Firefighters put out Tuesday morning house fire in Genoa

The fire chief says there are no reports of injuries

GENOA, Wis. (WKBT) – Firefighters in Genoa worked to put out a house fire Tuesday morning.

When crews arrived at the home on Venner Hollow Road, flames were coming out one window.

Genoa-Harmony fire chief Mike Hanson says a closed door on the second floor helped contain the fire to a small room.

Hanson says that helped save a lot of the families’ belongings.

“It’s really important that people realize the big help that that is, because that really shortens up our time here, and we can get ready for the next call,” Hanson said.

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Chief Hanson says there are no reports of injuries.

The family will need temporary housing.
