FIRST ALERT FORECAST: Thunderstorm chance increase overnight. -Erik Dean

Make sure you have the News8000 First Alert Weather App downloaded on your mobile device as we head into the weekend.

DISCUSSION: I think it’s safe to say that Mother Nature has really spoiled us over the past couple of days with highs in the low to mid 80s, plenty of sunshine, and low humidity. That all changes this evening as a line of thunderstorms will push through the Coulee Region.

HOUR BY HOUR PRAIN CHANCES:
Rain Chances Hourly

In La Crosse, for the most part the mid-evening hours will be okay. It’s when we get into the late evening and into the overnight hours that the thunderstorm chances really start to get their act together here. Let’s time everything out with SkyTracker.

SKYTRACKER:
St 1 St 2 St 3 St 4 St 5

So by the 11 PM  timeframe, it will be mostly rain. By 5 AM, Portions of Clark, Chippewa, and Eau Claire Counties will see thunderstorm activity. By 8 AM, the majority of us will see some rain and thunderstorm activity, and that will continue until we hit the 10 AM time frame. By 10, Clark County down to Crawford County will continue seeing thunderstorm activity. By noon, with the exception of some rain here and there, it’s out of here. That will pave the way for a nice Friday Night. Now in regards to overnight and tomorrow morning, some places could see some heavy wind, and maybe a little hail.

FORECAST:
Tonight Tomorrow

8 Day Pm

I am keeping the thunderstorm chances in the forecast this weekend. I honestly wouldn’t cancel any outdoor plans you may have. Just keep an eye on the News8000 Weather App throughout the weekend and maybe have a indoor plan just in case you get caught under a brief shower.

Enjoy the rest of your Thursday!
