First flu case confirmed in Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. — Wisconsin health officials have confirmed the first flu case.

The Department of Health Services said Friday an adult from northeastern Wisconsin is the first confirmed case. No other information about the patient was released.

This first case indicates an early start to flu season for Wisconsin that generally runs from November to March, with peak activity around late-January or February.
