Five people sent to area hospitals following head-on car crash
NELSON, Wis. (WKBT) — Five people were sent to area hospitals after a head on-car crash on Highway 35.
Just before 5 p.m., Saturday, the Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call about a head-on crash on Highway 35 near Deer Creek Road in the town of Nelson.
According to the sheriff’s office, 48-year-old Michelle Peters, of Mondovi’s was traveling northbound in her car on Highway 35 when 82-year-old Raymond Reinhardt, of Alma, turned his car in front of Peter’s vehicle.
The vehicles struck head-on.
Upon arrival, emergency crews found the two cars blocking the highway.
Peters was transported to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, along with her two passengers, 36-year-old Stephanie Taylor, of Mondovi, and 37-year-old Lucas Loewenhagen, of Cochrane.
Reinhardt was also sent to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries along with his passenger, 72-year-old Yvonne Grovdahl of Wabasha.
A portion of Highway 35 was shut down for over an hour until crews could clean up the crash.
