Flag dedication ceremony marks addition to military memorials in La Crosse

American, Wisconsin, POW/MIA and other military flags were added

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – An addition to Veterans Freedom Park in La Crosse is flying high.

A flag-raising ceremony Wednesday marked the addition of of American, Wisconsin, POW/MIA and other military flags at the war memorials located at the park.

“It’s very special to me, because it’s just the right thing to do,” said Medal of Honor recipient Ken Stumpf. “They should have these all over the place.”

The park is home to memorials for veterans from World War II, Korea, Vietnam, as well as memorials to honor Hmong veterans and the World War II Nurse Cadet Corps.
