SOUTHERN JUNEAU…CENTRAL VERNON…NORTHERN RICHLAND…NORTHEASTERN
CRAWFORD…SOUTHERN ADAMS AND SOUTHEASTERN MONROE COUNTIES…
At 439 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated scattered thunderstorms
producing mainly light to moderate rain across the warned area.
Estimates are 1 to 2 inches of rain has fallen across the warned
area this afternoon, some of this in areas with ongoing flooding
from last nights heavy rain. Flash flooding and additional rapid
rises on streams and rivers are expected.
More thunderstorms are expected through early evening, with
additional rainfall amounts of 1/2 to 1 inch possible.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
A Flash Flood Warning means that flooding is imminent or occurring.
If you are in the warned area move to higher ground immediately.
Residents living along streams and creeks should take immediate
precautions to protect life and property.
