Fmr. dorm director sentenced on child porn charge
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — A former Des Moines college dormitory director has been sentenced to 15 years in prison for videotaping a teenage boy using the bathroom.
The U.S. attorney’s office says 28-year-old Kent Oman was sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Des Moines. He pleaded guilty in July to a federal charge of producing child pornography.
Oman admitted as part of his plea agreement that he used a hidden camera to produce videos of the teen using the bathroom at Oman’s dorm room at AIB College of Business between January 2009 and November 2010.
The U.S. attorney’s office says Oman mentored the teen through Big Brothers Big Sisters.
Oman also was ordered to serve 10 years of supervised release after he is released from prison.
