Food and supply drive in La Crosse supports devastated Minneapolis community

How you can help, where and what to donate

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – If you’re looking for a way to help the Minneapolis community recover from ongoing riots, a food and supply drive is happening today.

Organizers, Molly Korinek and Macy Hembd, are delivering food, medical, and hygiene supplies with the help of  Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater La Crosse staff.

Employees have offered to transport the donated items to places and people in need while demonstrators continue to protest the killing of George Floyd.

Items can be dropped off in the back of 222 8th St. S, La Crosse from 10 a.m. until 9. p.m on June 1.

General Supplies:

  • Bread
  • Instant coffee
  • Cocoa packs
  • Fruit and vegetables that do not require refrigeration
  • Canned and preserved goods
  • Paper towels, toilet paper
  • Household cleaning supplies
  • Laundry pods
  • Dry clothing
  • Walkie Talkies
  • Floor mattresses, or mats

Medical Supplies:

  • Narcan and overdose supplies
  • CPR barriers
  • Instant cold packs
  • Water basins and plastic disposable liners
  • Hemostatic dressings
  • Nasal airways
  • Shatter-resistant goggles
  • Sterile aprons
  • Biohazard bags, sharp boxes
  • Rubbing alcohol
  • Vicks, cold and flu tablets

Hygiene Supplies:

  • Menstrual products
  • Deodorant, body razors
  • Toothbrushes and toothpaste
  • Hand sanitizer, soap
  • Dry shampoo, bathing supplies
  • Hand lotion
