For Westby baseball team, sense of unfinished business
WESTBY, Wis. (WKBT) — After beating Luther Tuesday night, the Westby baseball team is off to a 1-0 start in the Coulee Conference. The Norsemen have higher goals than a conference title, though.
Westby hopes to return to Appleton.
Last year, they finished runner-up in the state, falling in the Div. 3 championship game.
Not bringing home the gold is what’s driving them this year.
“We didn’t get what we wanted last year so we gotta use that as momentum,” said senior Jared Anderson. “We gotta drive and get there again.
“That’s pretty much what we’re saying, just gotta do what we do best. Hit the ball, catch the ball, no errors.”
Westby travels to rival Viroqua on Monday night.
