Ford recalls nearly 1.5 million Focuses due to stall problem
Ford is recalling nearly 1.5 million Focus cars due to a defect that could cause them to stall, USA Today reported.
Affected are model years 2012 to 2018 with 2-liter GDI and 2-liter GTDI engines, the paper said.
Customers should keep their gas tanks at least half full until their cars are fixed. The problem is a defective valve that can become stuck and cause the car to stall and then not restart.
The recall includes about 1.28 million cars in the U.S., 136,000 in Canada and 45,000 in Mexico, USA Today said.
Ford dealers will repair the cars for free and customers will be notified directly if they’re affected, the paper said.
