Foreclosure event in Milwaukee for veterans
MILWAUKEE (AP) — The Milwaukee area veteran’s medical center is holding an event to help veterans at risk of losing their homes in foreclosures.
Agencies will be on hand Tuesday at Veteran’s Manor in Milwaukee to discuss how to prevent foreclosures, homeless programs and other help for homeless veterans in clinical management.
Barbara Gilbert, from the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center, says the program has prevented more than 240 people from becoming homeless in Green Bay, Appleton, Milwaukee and Racine.
The Milwaukee VA Medical Center and the Department of Housing and Urban Development organized the local event. Similar events have been held across the country.
