Former Dakota elementary building becomes dog day care
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A former elementary school building in our area is full of life again.
Only this time it’s full of dogs.
PAWS 24-7 Doggy Day Care has opened in the former Dakota Area Community School.
Owners of the new business say they were excited to re-purpose the former school.
“So many people in Dakota actually own dogs that live in this area here. Part of the opportunity we have is this is on fourteen acres of property and this summer the plan is to open a dog park out here,” said Mark Woida, Co-Owner of Paws 24/7 Dog Day Care.
The building has been empty since the charter school closed in 2015.
