Former La Crosse police officer files federal suit against department
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A former La Crosse Police officer is taking his old department to court over allegations of race discrimination and retaliation.
Anthony Clark filed complaints with the state Department of Workforce Development last year, but now will pursue the matter in federal court.
He claims the La Crosse Police Department subjected him to unwarranted internal investigations and scrutiny after he accused the department of race discrimination.
It’s something Clark says was ongoing, dating all the way back to 2011.
However, the city and police department have denied these allegations. The department’s chief says they are looking forward to the facts of the case coming out.
Clark is no longer with the department because of a medical condition.
