Former Mayor Tim Kabat named new LADCO Executive Director

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Former La Crosse Mayor Tim Kabat has been named the new executive director of La Crosse Area Development Corporation (LADCO).
LADCO is a Coulee Region organization that facilitates and promotes economic development in our area.
“I am honored to be selected as LADCO’s next executive director and look forward to helping move our region forward,” said Kabat. “ The organization has been the leader in economic development, including real estate solutions, business incubation and workforce strategies. The next several years will be critical, as our area recovers from the economic catastrophe that was COVID-19. LADCO will be on the forefront, assisting our businesses to grow and adapt and helping people get back to work.”
Kabat was the mayor of La Crosse for two terms. He declined to run again in 2021. Prior to that he was the executive director of Downtown Mainstreet Inc. and a former staff member in La Crosse’s planning department.
“I am happy to announce that Mayor Tim Kabat will be the new Executive Director for LADCO!” said LADCO Search Committee Chair Patti Balacek. “We have confidence that Tim’s strong background in planning and economic development coupled with his knowledge and love of the area will serve as the catalyst to bring numerous projects to fruition.”
