Former Waterloo teacher arrested again
DES MOINES, Iowa (AP) — A former Waterloo teacher who was convicted of having a student play strip poker video games has been arrested in Des Moines for allegedly failing to comply with sex offender registration requirements.
The Waterloo-Cedar Falls Courier reported Larry Twigg was arrested Wednesday. He was released Thursday after posting bond.
Twigg was found guilty of five counts of lascivious acts with a minor in April and sentenced to two years in prison. He was free on bond while he appeals his conviction.
A student testified at trial that Twigg invited him to his home to catch up on homework and had him play strip video games.
Twigg’s trial lawyer argued the acts weren’t sexual.
Online court records did not list an attorney for Twigg on the new charge.
