Franky ‘Frank’ Ranc

At age 47, Franky “Frank” Lee Ranc of West Concord, Minnesota, passed away on July 22, 2022, in Newcastle, Oklahoma.

Frank was born January 14, 1975, to Francis Ranc and Doris (Smith) Ranc in Mason City, Iowa. Frank attended school in Cresco and graduated class of 1994 from Spring Valley High School.

Frank married Christine Alme and later divorced. Frank was employed at Piepho Moving & Storage Inc. in Rochester, Minnesota, as an owner-operator.

He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend. Frank was known for his infectious upbeat personality, contagious smile, unforgettable laugh, impulsive and risky decision making and stubbornness. He often said, “Don’t worry about it, it’ll be fine” or “I’m good.”

Frank was most proud of his three children. He treasured his time he spent with them and all of his family and friends. Those closest to Frank knew he lived a faster-paced life and lived life to the fullest. He was truly one of a kind. He enjoyed trips and vacations with his children and family. Anyone who knew him recognized his good heart and helping hand.

Frank cherished making memories with his children, family and friends. He placed great value on sharing knowledge and skills in chess, cards, dominos and driving skills. We wouldn’t be surprised when he stopped at the local casino of which he was very confident in his gambling. He appreciated a good steak, bonfires, exciting rides on four wheelers and dirt bikes. Those memories will forever be cherished.

Our broken hearts will forever feel the loss and emptiness of his absence. Frank will be missed by many.

Frank is survived by children, Andy Ranc of St. Louis, MO, Ryan Ranc of West Concord, MN, and Hannah Ranc of West Concord, MN; mother, Doris Ranc of Charles City, IA; sister, Mindy Larson of Cresco, IA; brother, Billy Ranc of Cresco; his close friend, Candace Reid of Blaine, MN, and multiple nieces and nephews.

Frank was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.

A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, Aug. 15, at Hindt Funeral Home in Spring Valley, Minnesota. Visitation will be from noon until the time of service. Pastor Kris Ferkin will officiate, and the burial will beat the Spring Valley Cemetery.
