Freedom Walk Wednesday in La Crosse

On Wednesday people all over the U.S. will pause to remember the tragic events of September 11th, 2001.  Wednesday marks 12 years since terrorist attacks killed thousands of people in New York City, at the Pentagon, and in Shanksville, Penn.

Our area will also be commemorating the somber anniversary.

Operation Homefront is once again hosting its Freedom Walk in La Crosse.

It’s about taking time not only to remember those who lost their lives on 9/11, but also to remember our country’s values, to honor veterans, and thank first responders.

Anyone is welcome to participate in the one mile Freedom Walk.  It’s free, but registration is required.  You can register between 4 and 5 p.m. Wednesday at the bandshell in La Crosse’s Riverside Park.  There will be a short program at 5:15, and the walk starts afterward.
