The exercise, on land near Villa St. Joseph at W2658 Hwy. 33 on St. Joseph Ridge about 10 miles east of La Crosse, is expected to last about an hour.

Presenter will be Tom Roberts, a retired psychotherapist and practicing Zen Buddhist. The author of “The Mindfulness Workbook: A Beginner’s Guide to Overcoming Fear and Embracing Compassion,” Roberts leads several retreats at the FSC each year.

The deep, tonal sounds from inverted Tibetan singing bowls are believed to promote relaxation, reduce stress, improve mental clarity and help people center themselves.

A $10 suggested donation may be paid upon arrival. More information and registration are available at the FSC website www.FSCenter.org or by calling (608) 791-5295. Registration by 4 p.m. Tuesday is requested but not required.

Participants are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair.
