Fundraisers honored in La Crosse as part of National Philanthropy Day

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Fundraisers in La Crosse are honored Thursday as part of National Philanthropy Day.

The celebration is hosted by the Upper Mississippi Valley Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

The awards are intended to recognize people that give back to their community.

For the Association’s Chapter President, she hope the awards are more than a one day effort.

“A six year old girl can be a philanthropist that teaches us that we all have the capacity to be philanthropists,” said Nancy Brown, President of the Upper Mississippi Valley Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals.

Five awards were handed out in La Crosse.
